As the dawn of 2024 graced the horizon, Caritas Sri Lanka began a new journey filled with promise and positivity. On the 2nd of January, the organization set the tone for the year ahead with a heartwarming celebration, blending spirituality and cherished traditions.
The day commenced with a Holy Mass led by the National Director, Rev. Fr. Luke Nelson. Gathered together, the Caritas Sri Lanka family sought blessings for the upcoming year, reinforcing their commitment to serving others with compassion and dedication.
A touch of tradition was added to the day following the spiritual ceremony. In a gesture echoing cultural roots, milk was ceremoniously boiled, symbolizing purity and prosperity. This act served as a symbolic step into the new year, embracing the hope for growth and nourishment in the months to come.
Beneath the shining sun, Rev. Fr. Luke Nelson led a unique blessing ceremony, bathing both our vehicles and the office in the warmth of the Holy Spirit. This special ritual, filled with spirituality, is cast around to fill our workspace and the tools with divine grace and safeguarding.
As the day unfolded, the Caritas Sri Lanka family came together for a delightful New Year breakfast. Laughter and fellowship filled the air, as staff members shared moments of joy and reflection, promoting a sense of unity and togetherness.
The festivities reached a climax with the first staff gathering of the year, held in the CSL Auditorium. This gathering served not only as a professional meeting but also as a platform for sharing aspirations, setting goals, and fostering a sense of collective purpose among the dedicated Caritas Sri Lanka team.
