Today, Rev. Fr. Luke Nelson, National Director of Caritas Sri Lanka, visited the Apostolic Nunciature in Colombo to pay his respects following the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. During this solemn occasion, he met with the Apostolic Nuncio and offered heartfelt condolences on behalf of the entire Caritas Sri Lanka–SEDEC family.
Fr. Luke also took a moment to pen a message in the condolence book, honouring the life and legacy of the Holy Father. His note read:
“It is with deep sorrow and respect, the family at Caritas Sri Lanka- SEDEC mourns the passing away of His Holiness Pope Francis on 21st of April 2025. His life was a testament to compassion, humility and unwavering faith. A shepherd to the faithful and a symbol of hope and peace to the world. May his soul find eternal rest and may his legacy continue to inspire the Church and its Mission.”
The Caritas Sri Lanka family joins the global Catholic community in mourning, while also celebrating the extraordinary life and enduring impact of a true servant of God.
