The initiative is a plan to raise funds as an effort towards improving society in a large way this Christmas season. Hatton National Bank is revealing its organization’s approach to corporate giving, positive social governance, diversity, and inclusion through its program this December.
Sri Lanka is suffering months of blackouts and calamitous shortages of food, fuel, and medicines in its worsening economic environment, Families and skipping regular meals as food become more unaffordable. Children are going to bed hungry and their health is being adversely affected. The United Nations has proclaimed that childhood is special and should be entitled to delicate care and assistance. Children should be given the necessary protection and assistance to be healthy and hopeful as the future generations of this country. The objective of this project is to recognize that children are the lifeblood of all communities in Sri Lanka and they should be given an opportunity to fully and harmoniously develop their personality. They should grow up in a healthy family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness, love, and understanding.
Caritas Sri Lanka is joining hands with HNB this Christmas season to raise funds and distribute aid to the most vulnerable and poor children in multiple communities around the country. The selected children will be given financial assistance or stationery items such as books, school bags, and shoes for the betterment of their future education needs. Poverty alleviation should be the duty of all communities since no one is born to be poor. Assisting children during this wonderful Christmas season will certainly uplift their lives and bring a smile upon the innocent faces of the most vulnerable children of Sri Lanka.
